Healthcare is exhausting our financial resources. So it is little wonder that people are
counting their own resources and preparing for future struggles. But God wants us to prepare to For something
different.

1 Chronicles 13:1-4

1 Chronicles 13:1-4

Introduction: Last week we saw the real reason for Saul’s
death was his failure to obey or even consult with God. This is confirmed by our text today where the
people decide to look to God for the answers of life because of the failure of
Saul. For over twenty years they had not looked to God for advice as a nation.

For over twenty years their leader had not looked to God for
help or wisdom.

Why did they lose touch with God? Now they were going to put back God in their
lives. They also were in for shock.

D. LEVITES WERE THE ONLY ONES TO TOUCH IT

E. UZZAH PAYS THE PRICE

F. GOD WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED

G. DAVID IS ANGRY YET HIS HEART GAINS A NEW RESPECT
FOR GOD

3. BRINGING BACK THE POWER OF GOD

A. PEOPLE OFTEN COME TO A PLACE WHERE THEY WANT TO
BRING BACK GOD TO THEIR LIFE.

B. READ A BIT OF THE BIBLE, ATTEND SOME SERVICES.

C. WHEN THEY GET TO PARTS THEY DO NOT LIKE THEY GET
ANGRY

D. C.S.LEWIS, FEARSOME, POWERFUL, FREIGHTING, YET
GOOD AND KIND

E. IF YOU WANT THE POWER AND PRESENCE OF GOD, YOU
MUST SHOW HIM RESPECT.

F. YOU SHOW RESPECT BY WHAT YOU DO (OBEDIENCE)

G. YOU SHOW RESPECT BY WHAT YOU GIVE (YOUR TITHE
AND OFFERING)

H. YOU SHOW RESPECT BY GOING TO HIM FOR KNOWLEDGE

Conclusion: bring god into our life is a joyful thing;
celebrate the forgiveness and love of god to you. But remember to respect the power and
presence of god with your obedience.

1 Chronicles 10:1-6

1 Chronicles 10:1-6

I hope you have been reading along
with me through the Bible. Chronicles is
a difficult book because it reads like a clerks report. This book is written by Ezra, who used a lot
of sources to build the history of Israel. People returning from exile had lost their family history, linage and identity
as the people of God. Ezra wants to
build a simple document for the people. By
taking information from many documents that are now lost to us, he built a
family tree for Israel. It is not all
inclusive and some generations are skipped to make even branches. For the
Jewish people returning from exile during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah gives
them a sense of connection to life before the exile. Though Ezra tips his prophetic hand in little
parts like 4:10 the prayer of Jabez.
10 Jabez cried out to the God of
Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be
with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God
granted his request.
Or
the passage we are looking at today.

1. THE DEATH OF SAUL

A. DEATH IN BATTLE (1 CHRONICLES
10:1-6)

B. THE REAL REASON HE DIED (1
CHRONICLES 10:13)

2. OTHER PEOPLE WHO DIED OR SUFFERED
BECAUSE OF THEIR SIN

A. DAVID LOST A SON (BECAUSE OF HIS
SIN)

B. HEROD IS EATEN BY WORMS (ACTS
12:23)

C. ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRE (ACTS 5:1-11)

D. UNFORGIVEN: “WE ALL DESERVE IT KID”

3. YET WE RECEIVE GRACE

A. HE LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US
ALL (ISAIAH 53:4-6)

B. WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS (ROMANS
5:6-10)

C. THIS IS MY BLOOD (MATTHEW
26:26-28)

CONCLUSION:
THOUGH WE ALL DESERVE IT, JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR US SO THAT WHEN WE PUT OUR
TRUST IN HIM WE DO NOT SUFFER THE DEATH WE DESERVE BUT THE LIFE WE DON’T.
